Together with the aid organization ora international, we support the village of Balanta Sabor in West Africa, which is affected by a food crisis.
By purchasing our socks, you directly support children and families in Balanta Sabor (Guinea-Bissau). For every pair of socks sold, we donate a school meal and food for the families. Together, we can help improve the future of these children and give them the chance for better education and health.
The main cause of the famine in Balanta Sabor is a persistent drought triggered by climate change. Fields are drying up, water is becoming scarce, and people are forced to survive using makeshift solutions such as roots, prickly pears, bark, and clay.
For optimal scheduling, the final design should ideally be finalized 4 months before the desired delivery date. Short on time? Ask us anyway depending on our capacity, shorter deadlines may be possible.
The initiative
In the spring, the organization ora international launched a program to provide meals for 30 school-age children. A school cafeteria provides the children with a hot lunch, which is essential for their regular school attendance. A dedicated cook ensures a varied menu and makes sure the children have access to drinking water throughout the school day.
